MUSIC & MEDIA PASTOR POSITION 
JOB TITLE: Associate Pastor of Music and Media
DEPARTMENT: Ministerial
CLASSIFICATION: Regular Full-Time
 

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:
The Music and Media Pastor is responsible to the senior pastor for the development and promotion of the music and media ministries of the church.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Worship Responsibilities: Actively develop and direct a comprehensive music program, including choirs of all ages, special music programs, and vocal/instrumental ensembles.
  • Assist the pastor in planning all services of worship.
  • Coordinate and provide music and media for weddings, funerals, special projects, ministries, and other church-related activities as needed.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the music library, musical instruments, and audio/video systems.
  • Organize special music related events and workshops for the various music programs.
  • Stay up to date on music and media methods in order to equip volunteers and advance this ministry.
Media Responsibilities: Actively develop and direct a comprehensive media program, including online ministries, website content, social media platforms, and technology improvements.
  • Lead in the formation, direction, and coordination of an audio/visual department to support church activities.
  • Enlist and equip all audio, video, and lighting ministry volunteers for FBCL services and events.
  • Coordinate and manage audio, video, and lighting for all church related events.
  • Produce videos for worship services, special events, and other church activities.
  • Provide oversight and management for all FBCL social networking platforms and website content in coordination with ministry leaders.
Pastoral Responsibilities: Follow the Senior Pastor’s leadership and work collaboratively with FBCL ministry and support staff.
  • Cooperate with the church nominating committee to enlist and train church music and media ministry volunteers.
  • Prepare and steward the annual Music and Media budgets.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Pastor and other ministry staff to execute FBCL service dates and times.
  • Participate in pastoral functions as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
  • Cooperate with associational and state leaders in promoting activities of mutual interest.
 
INITIATIVE AND JUDGMENT REQUIRED:
The position requires that ministry be done without direct supervision and decisions must be made based on own experience and judgment.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess the physical ability to meet the requirements of the job.
 
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be willing to submit to, and must pass, pre-employment and random drug testing at the will and expense of FBCL.
  • Must be willing to submit to, and must pass, a criminal background check at the will and expense of FBCL.
  • Preferred experience of live and post-production audio, video, and lighting management.
  • Preferred experience with website maintenance, social networking trends, and online ministry strategies and implementation.
  • Preferred experience with ProPresenter software.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must display good relational and communication skills.
 
EMPLOYEES SUPERVISED:
Supervises all music and media personnel hired by the church including the pianist, organist, audio/visual technician, and any other temporary and/or permanent music and media-related employees.
 
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works closely with the Senior Pastor and is directly responsible to the church for all work performed.
 
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Undergraduate degree in related ministry field plus a minimum of two years’ seminary training is preferred or an equivalent educative experience.
 
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
Three or more years of experience in the related field of ministry is preferred.
 
ORDINATION AND CHURCH MEMBERSHIP:
Membership at First Baptist Church of Leesburg, Georgia is required. Ordination anticipated.
